To promote healthy food habits among children healthy food competition was conducted among the students of class 6. Many students took part in it and they were well aware about the nutrients present in their food.
Every student of Stepping Stones Sr. Sec. School Sector 37-D, Chandigarh undergoes health checkup twice in a year by the doctors of reputed hospitals. The health checkup includes eyes, dental, ENT, Pediatric and general examination. Medical card with medical history of each child is maintained by the doctor.
Students were made aware about the diseases caused by mosquitoes like Malaria, Dengue, and Chikungunya. Symptoms and preventive measures were taught through oral discussion. They were motivated to keep their surroundings clean and do not allow water to stagnate as it leads to breeding of mosquitoes.
A workshop on First Aid was conducted on July 2, 2022 by the school Medical Team -Dr.Suman for the members of the staff. The workshop imparted knowledge of commonly occurring situations in our day to day life. It was explained to teachers as to how one should remain calm and give basic medical aid to
“World No Tobacco Day” was celebrated in the Health club. A discussion was held in which Dr, Suman gave speech on the need of Tobacco and Smoke Free World. Students displayed slogans on the negative effects of use of tobacco. By the end the children were well ware of the bad effects of tobacco.
Speech on importance of balanced diet was given to the students. PPT on the same was also shown to them. Students were made aware that without balanced diet they will be more prone to diseases, infection, fatigue and low performance. Discussion on Personal Hygiene was done. Students were made aware about the facts about good personal hygiene. The hygiene of hair, skin, teeth, hands, feet, nails and other important parts of body were discussed and students responded well and promised to inculcate personal hygiene in their routine.
